Quick note from the Constable: - When I started as the Elected Constable, the department had one vehicle
and no deputies. I have worked hard at building a department that serves
Precinct One and the entire County of Waller professionally and efficiently.
By adding a second patrol vehicle and now having 9 deputies and have more coming,
I have a great team that works diligently to serve our residents and visitors.
All of the Constables work with a very tight budget. I have sought
out grants and donations when possible to provide for a higher level
of service. Deputies on patrol carry an automatic external defibrillator
and are trained to use it, and will respond and apply it when needed.
We want to be able to help the community in any way possible.
We patrol closely in our neighborhoods and subdivisions,
and we take special interest in protecting the school zones.
When help is needed anywhere in the County, we will respond.
Constables and their deputies have jurisdiction in all areas of the County.
The Precint One Constable's Office was on site around the clock
throughout the duration of the wildfires in the Fieldstore area.
We work hard to patrol and protect Precinct One, but never hesitate to
assist anywhere we are needed.
We respond with all agencies and work closely with the Sheriffs Department
and all other police agencies in Waller County.
The departments specially trained deputies established a specialized
police bike patrol team, and we utilize it at community functions such as the
Watermelon festival, Waller County Fair and Parade, holiday events and parades
and other events when needed.
I take pride in having a very close and professional working
relationship with all related and important agencies of the County.
I make sure we work very close with the Precinct 1 Justice of the Peace,
and that we are diligent at handling all civil process, court duties and related business.
Additionally, civil process is received from attorneys, outside counties and
departments of the State of Texas and other governments.
I am trained and proficient at handling this related duty, as well as are my deputies.
I have great pride and am very proud to have been able to serve
for the past 9 years as the Constable of Precinct One - Waller County.
I have worked at serving this community most of my life in various roles,
and I would very much like to be able to continue serving as your
Elected Constable of Precint One.
I have heard from many people that my opponents have said that my focus
is not on being your Elected Constable. I would like to take this opportunity
make assurance that I am very focused on this department.
I personally work daily at serving as the Constable of Precinct One, whether
it be patrolling, handling civil process, taking care of work from the Justice of the Peace,
doing office work, or just being present in your neighborhood and school zones.
Additionally, I have deputies that work routinely and often for you, and are required to do so.
All of the Elected Constables work hard to fulfill the duties as needed and required of their position,
regardless of counting how many hours a week it takes, whether it is 40 hours a week or 100,
as well as being on call 24/7, days, nights and holidays to respond when needed.
Additionally, all Constables do other work outside their course of duties of being constable,
whether it be "extra jobs" such as security at events, directing traffic on road jobs, or others,
out of necessity, as the salary of an elected constable is not substantial.
- And Last, it is not necessary for me to make idle "promises" that I will work for you,
like an opponent has challenged. I have a 9 year track record of working hard
for you, as your Elected Constable of Pct. 1, and a life long track record of
community involvement, volunteerism, organizational support, youth support etc.
The choices end up being - stay with an already effectively functioning department,
or take a chance on a "promise".
I ask for your support so I can continue with my good program.
