Justice of the Peace Pct. 1
The Constable's Department, by precinct, is required to provide security and baliff services
to the Justice of the Peace during court proceedings. This department works closely with
the court of Precinct 1 Justice of the Peace. Baliff services are provided at pre-trial hearings,
jury selections, bench trials and jury trials and any other occasion as requested.
Civil Process
All civil process that is generated through the Justice of the Peace office is handled by
this department. This includes all writs, citations, subpoenas, notices and warrants.
Civil process documents are also received from the other Justice of the Peace precincts
for service in Precint 1, and out of county agencies and legal firms also send civil process
to this department for service.

Deputy Constable Ray Cunningham represents the Constable Pct. 1 Department and
participates in Law Endorcement Torch Runs and other events.
Law Enforcement
agencies from across the state participates and supports the
Texas Special Olympics.
